All the clocks in the house have started syncing to something that isn’t time. Not each other, either. Just… a mood. You can feel it if you stand still long enough. A sort of pre-tremor, or the breath before a word. The microwave blinks 4:92. The wristwatch ticks backward when I lie. Every device is counting down, but none agree on what happens when it ends.
